A school with a long history...
The first organised Primary School of Limassol. A Astiki Sholi of Limassol, as it was called for years (today the First Primary School of Limassol), operated in 1900. Its official name was "Primary School of Limassol", which was built at the expense of H'Loizis Michaelides during the hierarchy of Kition Cyril. Specifically, Hadjiloizis offered in 1898 an amount of 1200 Cyprus pounds for the construction of the school. Among the first teachers of the school were Aristodimos Pilavakis, who later served as its director, and Paraskevas Ioannou. G'eorgios X Nikolaidis, Andreas Potamitis, Charalambos Azinas, Giorgos Karlettidis and Ioannis Perdikis.
The original building of the 1st Municipal School remained until 1952, when it was demolished. The new one was built in the 1950s. It was inaugurated at the corner of Ptolemaion and Vragadinos by the then Minister of Education Konstantinos Spyridakis.
All the young people of Limassol at the beginning of the 20th century passed through the First Urban School of Limassol. In the 1930s, the Second Urban School was founded and later the Third Urban School of Limassol.
